During COVID, most advertisers sympathized with people stuck in their houses. For our HotelTonight campaign, we sympathized with houses stuck with their people.
COVID-19 took a huge toll on the travel industry. But in early 2021, it appeared travel would soon be safe again. In response, every travel brand from VRBO to Motel 6 fired up their advertising engines in unison. With soft, emotional messages that spoke to our collective need to roam free.
With HotelTonight, a brand that likes to have a little fun, we saw a huge opening. So with these quick-turn social videos, we zigged while the rest of the world zagged.
