Habit Burger & Grill surprised many by besting all the big burger chains to win the USA Today 10Best Readers' Choice Awards. It was a big deal. So we decided to celebrate in a big way. By launching the burger into space.
We then took aim at our biggest rival, In-N-Out Burger, and congratulated them on their impressive second place finish with a full page newspaper ad in the LA Times, and billboards located directly across from their restaurants.
This resulted in a flood of local, national, and even international media attention, and sparked a spirited debate among burger lovers online.
Even more importantly, it got people talking about Habit Burger & Grill, resulting in their most profitable month in years.
